September 2023 blend of links
Some links don’t call for a full blog post. From my perspective, some articles don’t require my rough opinion commented on top of them, and some columns have already said everything that needed to be said. But sometimes, despite me having nothing to add, I still want to share some of the good stuff I encounter on the web. In a previous post, I wondered if I should still somehow share this kind of links on the blog, maybe as a compilation format. Well, there you go.
Danish artist who submitted empty frames as artwork told to repay funding・An artist was provided with around 70k€ worth of banknotes to recreate a piece of art called An Average Danish Annual Income, but submitted empty frames with the title Take the Money and Run instead. Genius.
The Most Misunderstood Concept in Physics・Veritasium has been one of my favourite YouTube channels for a while, but I found this video on the topic of entropy particularly well done and fascinating.
What I learned in year three of Platformer・Precious feedback from Casey Newton including many great tips for anyone thinking of launching a newsletter and/or wishing to earn a living through it.
The Impossible Cool・This Tumblr blog collecting old and rare photos of celebrities is surely one of my oldest — and coolest — bookmarks.
Not an Alias podcast・My friend Sarah recently launched a new podcast with Fred Eyangoh: if you enjoy an evening quiz at the local pub like I do, you will definitely enjoy listening to this.
Vangelis — Sweet Solitude・I think that the Blade Runner soundtrack is still one of the best music to listen to while working, and it is a shame that this track ended up not being included.
Terra Kaffe・I’m not a fan of adding unnecessary digital layers on top on something that can be purely analog but this coffee maker looks so, so good…
Rainbow AI・Usually when I see “AI” in the name of a product I instantly close the tab, but this weather app just does exactly what it says: super accurate rain forecast. Magic.
Meanwhile・Long time internet friend Daniel Gray’s newsletter: always a joy to open, read, and systematically click on one of the carefully curated links.
